Description:


  • Under the authority of the Coordinator of Corporate Training, Community Services and RAC, the Pedagogical Counsellor in Continuing Education manages and developments recognition of acquired competency services. The Pedagogical Counsellor advises, leads, provides information, as well as development, support and feedback to the teaching staff, the executive staff responsible for teaching services and other stakeholders at the College, in connection with pedagogy, and particularly programs of study, learning and teaching strategies, nature and methods of evaluation, as well as research and innovation.
  • More specifically, but not limited to, the Pedagogical Counsellor:
  • Development component:
  • Develops tools and procedures to provide services particularly in both RAC and the department;
  • Identifies new avenues for development in RAC;
  • Recommends and develops new products to expand our service offering;
  • Conducts market research to evaluate the business sectors and networks to be prioritized and makes an implementation plan;
  • Participates in various events to recruit;
  • Produces and writes various documents: service offers, statistical reports, information and promotion documents;
  • Promotes the RAC services offered by the Campus to a variety of clienteles, including individuals and employers, who may require this service;
  • Maintains current information on research, changes and innovations related to the field of RAC and monitor current trends in RAC.

Accompaniment component:

  • Develops and optimizes prior learning assessment tools;
  • Accompanies and trains content specialists;
  • Prepares support materials and information kits;

Training and Pedagogical Support:

  • Provides support for Continuing Education staff and Faculty involved;
  • Develops and participates in Orientation activities;
  • Provides pedagogical support and guidance to staff and content specialists in the RAC services and feedback on materials and services developed.

Administration:

  • Strives and contributes to the achievement of financial targets;
  • Develops and maintains a network of Content Specialists in the areas targeted by the College;
  • Liaises with other departments for matters concerning complaints, hiring and equipment needs, planning and development of promotional material;
  • Participates in promotional and recruitment activities;
  • Provides information for preparation and financial control of Continuing Education budgets;
  • Meets budget objectives set by the College for the International projects;
  • Advises on matters concerning the purchase of equipment, software and maintenance of facilities;
  • Assists in the review of administrative procedures and in the implementation of a new project;
  • In consultation with the Dean, provides appropriate liaison with both internal and external committees and attends meetings as required.
Other related tasks which fall within the scope of the classification of this position may be assigned.

  • Salary scale: $50,150 $92,027 (this position is also entitled to a responsability premium)
  • Contract: July 24, 2023 until July 20, 2024, or until the return of the incumbent to her position, whichever occurs first
  • Location: Workweek is split between the Main campus and Parc X campus

    Requirements:
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of specialization, particularly education, administration, or andragogy.

Conditions related to the specific position:

  • Two (2) years of related experience (an asset);
  • Extensive knowledge of postsecondary education and the Quebec college system;
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and training programs for immig
