What will you be doing?

Lead plant OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) activities ensuring compliance with legislative and corporate standards.
Gather, interpret and present Safety statistics by departments within our facility, and report to management and corporate head office.
Act as an internal consultant on daytoday activities.
Conduct monthly OH&S training, inspections, and safety meetings.
Act as an auditor for monthly internal audits.
Be a part of incident / accident investigations.
Management of initiatives through Environmental, Safety and Quality Programs
Development and implementation of Safety training programs.
Provide oversight of ISO14001 and 9001 programs with assistance from of our corporate office.
Timely documentation, investigation and reporting of all safety related incidents
Develop and manage system records to ensure compliance with provincial legislation.
Serve as a lead liaison with industry regulators on compliance matters.
Lead all aspects of WCB claims management.
Take training courses as required by the company.

What skills, experience and education are we looking for?

5 + years of experience in managing ESQ system
Previous experience in participating and/or managing audits
Education / training in EQS disciplines an asset (e.g., WCB, Occupational Health and Safety Codes, Alberta Manufacturers Health and Safety Association programs, COR (Certificate of Recognition) programs.
Advanced knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate to a wide audience
Strong presentation skills
Attention to detail
