Part-time Cook
Maxville Manor is a 122-bed long-term care home located in Maxville, Ontario (30 minutes east of Ottawa or 30 minutes north of Cornwall).
We are looking for an experienced and passionate part-time cook to help support our team with preparation and delivery of all foods for clients, guests, and employees. Although this role is part-time, there is opportunity to pick up additional shifts once employed.
Main Responsibilities include to:
- Prepare and/or be responsible for the preparation/delivery of all foods for clients, guests and employees including Meals on Wheels program
- Review menus and production sheets before preparing meals and prepare and serve them properly and attractively
- Ensure use of proper food handling techniques
- Ensure all foods are stored and date rotated
- Monitor and follow portion control of food served to clients and coffee shop
- Assist serving in coffee shop as required
- Complete daily temperature audits for the fridge, freezers and storerooms and record findings on daily audit form
- Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic/modified diets according to planned menus
- Make menu substitutions as necessary and record these in designated place
- Adhere to time schedules for service of meals and nourishments
- Follow daily production charts, standardized recipes, and daily composite menus, while working within a set budget
- Participate actively in planning/preparing special occasion and theme meal days
- A Diploma or Certificate from a provincially recognized culinary training program or minimum 2 years' experience large quantity cooking experience, healthcare an asset
- Red Seal Certificate preferred.
- Current Food Safety Certification
- Knowledge about the Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating
- Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift
- Previous supervisory experience (preferred)

$22.64-$24.18 per hour
