DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

NOTE:
Personal Protective Equipment must be worn while performing the duties of an SPD Endoscopy Technician.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of a recognized Central Service Techniques Course or CSAO course;
Previous experience in a CS/SPD field including indepth knowledge of cleaning, inspecting, testing and processing of flexible scopes
Demonstrated knowledge of infection control procedures;
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be precise and proficient, retain what has been taught and be decisive;
Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision;
Proven to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills;
Proven to have excellent organizational, timemanagement and prioritization abilities;
Proven ability to perform constant lifting, continuous pushing, unremitted pulling and steering of carts, walking/standing approximately 90% of the shift;
Proven current knowledge of Meditech and inventory systems, preferred;
Previous experience within a hospital setting preferred;
Knowledge of medical terminology, an asset;
Must have satisfactory performance record;

Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular inservices in this area; and;
Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.

Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
