Description
The Human Resource Generalist will perform all human resource related responsibilities and assist with recruiting employees.

This position will partner with the senior management team to provide professional advice and assistance to supervisors on matters including recruitment and employment, compensation/benefits planning and administration, training and development, performance management, employee relations and all employee related concerns.


Major Responsibilities

Administration

  • Managing HR system, connecting all new employees to the HR system to ensure they complete their HR downloads
  • Searching, liaising and coordinating staff with mandatory training opportunities through 3rd parties
  • Tracking employee training and certificates, making sure the mandatory training has been taken on time by reminding employees.
  • Submitting employee timesheets for payroll to the finance team
  • Ensuring all staff receive pay stubs on time
  • Help ensure company's policies are in compliance with accreditation standards
  • Participating in and supporting special projects and tasks related to the Human Resources function, including policy updates, HR documentation updates, etc.
  • Maintaining in depth knowledge of legal requirements and labour standards related to daytoday management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance
  • Administering recruiting tools and applicant tracking systems, including job postings, reference checks, etc.

Personnel Support

  • Providing daytoday performance management guidance to supervisors, managers, and directors including coaching, performance improvement plans, and managing Human resource issues.
  • Overseeing employee concerns and conducting complex employee relations investigations as needed
  • Managing procedures regarding workplace investigations, progressive discipline, and termination.
  • Attending staff, supervisory, and recruitment meetings to provide updates on HR practices as well as answering questions regarding HR processes and changes
  • Sitting in performance reviews with managers
  • Managing employee personnel files
  • Visiting programs as necessary to meet with staff, and facilitate HR processes and communication.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • 2 years of recruiting experience
  • 2 years of HR Administration experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self motivated with ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Strong sense of ethics and the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion
  • Criminal Record check with a vulnerable sector and Child intervention record (Within a 6 month timeframe)
  • Designation in Alberta/Canada of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) highly recommended.

  • Designation in Alberta/Canada of Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
  • Experience working in residential programs

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 24 per week


Salary:
$48,894.30-$78,799.65 per year
