Responsibilities:
- Complete various field survey requests and measurements as assigned
- Provide layout for various linear infrastructure works
- Mark and label survey points and record field data according to job specifications
- Coordinate control network surveys, including traversing and levelling
- Conduct high accuracy tunnel survey (set of angles) and levelling loops for tunnel control network maintenance
- Setup TBM guidance systems (VMT & TACS), update guidance system daily and calibrate weekly
- Conduct surveys of existing surface features, below and above ground utilities
- Ensure survey equipment is maintained and calibrated monthly
- Maintain up to date and accurate asbuilt drawings
- Provide clear survey notes and sketches for each layout complete
- Survey monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation & reporting
Qualifications & Skills:
- Knowledge of the construction industry and construction specifications, methods and procedures
- Ability to read and accurately interpret construction drawings
- Experience with operating total station, GPS & other survey equipment
- Technical understanding of software such as AutoCAD, MicroSurvey
- Ability to understand project schedules critical path
- Minimum of 2+ years progressive experience, ideally related to site services and working in and around commercial/industrial type sites
- Team player with the ability to work within an integrated staff for field operations
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and work irregular hours (occasionally weekends or nights)
- Experience in tunnelling, microtunnelling & shaft construction surveying is considered a strong asset
- Valid Ontario driver's license (G class)
