The Production Supervisor position coordinates the execution of Sechelt's hour-by-hour and day-by-day stripping, mining, processing, stockpiling, and load-out activities in compliance with all health & safety expectations and to achieve maximum operational efficiency.

This position is located in Sechelt, BC.

What you'll get to do

  • Ensure employees, contractors, visitors, and all operations activities comply with all health & safety, environment, and Mines Code requirements
  • Perform all required Shiftboss activities as per the Mines Code
  • Coordinate execution of stripping, mining, processing, stockpiling, and loadout activities
  • Monitor operational activities and coach and direct employees to achieve maximum operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with collective agreement
  • Communicate with maintenance department employees to prioritize necessary maintenance activities (both scheduled and unscheduled)
  • Communicate with technical services employees to ensure all products are produced, stockpiled, and loaded out to comply with required specifications
Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Postsecondary education in a miningrelated discipline, engineering, or operations management, and / or significant operational experience in mining and manufacturing operations
  • BC Ministry of Energy & Mines Shiftboss certificate
  • Strong capacity to lead people and teams
  • Proficiency in health & safety management, including emergency response management, incident management, and employee training, development, and coaching
  • Supervisory experience within a unionized environment is an asset
  • Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Kronos Time & Attendance, and computeraided design
  • Knowledge of aggregate mining and material processing methods and equipment
  • Knowledge of aggregate quality control and quality assurance testing methods and results
  • Knowledge of marine bulk transport methods, equipment, and processes
