The Opportunity
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Merchant Experience engineering team in building robust, scalable, and intuitive systems that enhance the experience and engagement of our merchants. This critical role will drive technical excellence and innovation across our merchant platform, enabling seamless onboarding, management, and retention of merchants through robust technology and superior user experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role, guiding a high performing, autonomous team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do
Lead, manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of engineers dedicated to building merchant centric features, APIs, portals, and systems that optimize merchant operations
Partner closely with Product Management, other Engineering domains, and our Data Science team to understand merchant needs and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions
Architect and deliver scalable, high-performance systems that improve merchant onboarding, engagement, and loyalty
Ensure seamless integration and interoperability across our platforms, enabling merchants to efficiently manage their operations
Foster a culture of technical excellence through code reviews, best practices, and modern software engineering principles
Be hands-on with design and architecture decisions while leading by example in technical discussions and implementation reviews
Who You Are
5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Golang, and 3+ years leading engineering teams
Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance
Experience designing and operating microservices, with a strong grasp of Event Sourcing
Comfortable working in Kubernetes and modern cloud environments (AWS / GCP)
Experience partnering closely with Product to own a domain end-to-end
Hands-on when it matters, guiding design and architecture without micromanaging
Strong judgment around trade-offs, balancing innovation with proven approaches
Calm, confident, and collaborative, with strong opinions that are loosely held
Customer minded, with care for how technical decisions impact real people

The base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 - $220,000 CAD.
Final compensation will be dependent on experience, skillset, and role related qualifications, and will include benefits and bonus as per company policy. Please note that base salary ranges may differ based on location and local currency.

Nous recherchons un(e) Gestionnaire, Ingénierie pour diriger notre équipe d'ingénierie dédiée à l'Expérience marchands. Cette équipe conçoit des systèmes robustes, évolutifs et intuitifs qui améliorent l'engagement et l'expérience de nos marchands.
Ce rôle clé vise à assurer l'excellence technique et l'innovation au sein de notre plateforme marchands, en facilitant l'intégration, la gestion et la fidélisation des marchands grâce à des technologies solides et une expérience utilisateur de grande qualité.
Il s'agit d'un rôle de leadership actif et concret. Vous guiderez une équipe performante et autonome tout en favorisant une culture de collaboration, d'imputabilité et d'amélioration continue. Ce que vous ferez
Diriger, encadrer et faire évoluer une équipe d'ingénieurs performants responsable du développement de fonctionnalités, d'interfaces de programmation applicative (API), de portails et de systèmes centrés sur les marchands
Collaborer étroitement avec l'équipe Produit, les autres domaines d'ingénierie et l'équipe de science des données afin de comprendre les besoins des marchands et les traduire en solutions techniques pragmatiques
Concevoir et livrer des systèmes évolutifs et performants qui améliorent l'intégration, l'engagement et la fidélisation des marchands
Assurer l'intégration harmonieuse et l'interopérabilité entre nos plateformes afin de permettre aux marchands de gérer efficacement leurs opérations
Favoriser une culture d'excellence technique par des revues de code rigoureuses, l'adoption des meilleures pratiques et l'application de principes modernes d'ingénierie logicielle
Participer activement aux décisions d'architecture et de conception, en donnant l'exemple lors des discussions techniques et des revues d'implantation
Qui vous êtes
Vous êtes un(e) leader technique qui aime rester près du travail concret, bâtir des équipes solides et transformer des problèmes complexes en systèmes élégants et évolutifs.
Plus de 5 années d'expérience en développement logiciel, avec une solide maîtrise du langage Go, et au moins 3 années d'expérience en gestion d'équipes d'ingénierie
Compréhension approfondie des systèmes distribués, de l'évolutivité et de la performance
Expérience dans la conception et l'exploitation de microservices, avec une bonne maîtrise du modèle d'architecture fondé sur l'approvisionnement par événements
Aisance avec Kubernetes et les environnements infonuagiques modernes (notamment Amazon Web Services ou Google Cloud Platform)
Expérience de collaboration étroite avec les équipes Produit pour assurer la prise en charge complète d'un domaine
Capacité à intervenir de manière concrète lorsque nécessaire, en guidant les décisions d'architecture sans tomber dans la microgestion
Bon jugement dans l'évaluation des compromis techniques, en équilibrant innovation et solutions éprouvées
Attitude calme, confiante et collaborative, avec des convictions fortes, mais ouvertes à la discussion
Sensibilité aux besoins des clients et compréhension de l'impact réel des décisions techniques sur les utilisateurs
