Full-Time, Permanent

CNIB invites you to build a career as unique as you We are currently searching for a
Program Lead, Creative Arts Reporting to the Project Lead, CNIB Education, the Program Lead, Creative Arts will coordinate and implement children and youth focused programs within the Ontario region.

Specifically, the Program Lead is responsible for developing Creative Arts programming and implementing a wide range of CNIB's child and youth programs both virtually and in-person.

You will build strong, positive relationships with program participants, and seek insight into their unique needs, goals and lived experiences.


Your impact at CNIB:


  • Deliver inperson programs to children and youth who are blind or partially sighted.
  • Develop creative arts programming that is accessible for children and youth who are blind or partially sighted.
  • Support colleagues nationally to implement arts programming.
  • Answer staff and parent inquiries regarding accessible arts.
  • Manage the creative arts program expenses.
  • Assist with outcome evaluation processes.
  • Develop arts toolkits to support community organizations to meet the accessibility needs of our participants.
  • Engage in outreach to community organizations to offer accessibility supports.
  • Coordinate, Develop and Deliver March Break and summer camps.
  • Support the coordination of signature events.

Requirements:


Who you are:


  • Lived experience or experience working with children who are blind or have low vision and their families an asset.
  • Ability to work in an inclusive environment responding with empathy and awareness. to the diverse needs of the participants.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient technical skills including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work well in a team and take initiative when working independently.
  • Ability to use public transportation to chaperone participants when required.
  • Willingness to learn about and further develop existing opportunities that make creative arts accessible to children and youth who are blind or have low vision.
  • Willing to be the "go to" person within the organization to assist families and staff with all inquiries related to creative arts.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Degree/Diploma in visual arts/drama or dance or equivalent experience.
  • Connections to community organizations that provide creative arts opportunities an asset.
  • Proven knowledge and skills in program planning and instruction.
  • Coaching/Leadership experience an asset.
  • Proven experience managing staff or volunteers.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

Work Environment:


  • Willingness to work inperson with groups of children and youth
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Travel within the region required.
