Position Summary
Payroll Analyst, Finance

Your goal in this position is to assist in the completion of the biweekly payroll cycle for the hospital and foundation.

Your primary areas of responsibility will include guiding and review of workflow for each pay cycle, analysis and review of payroll data received from the departments converted into complex pay codes, creating and verifying payroll exception reports, ensuring timely completion of adjustments to meet biweekly payroll deadlines, and input and maintain payroll data integrity in our HRIS system.

Working closely with Human Resources, you will ensure all employee change forms are completed accurately before the payroll cycle.

This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will

Review of payroll work flow.

Biweekly and/or monthly remittances and account reconciliation as required by the Hospital and Government agencies.

Responding to employee inquiries.

Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Completion or enrolment in CPA Payroll Compliance Practitioner Program.

Minimum 5 years payroll experience in unionized environment using a computerized payroll system.

Hospital payroll experience would be an asset.

In house payroll system (Infinium) experience would be an asset.

Knowledge of time keeping

HRIS System implementation experience would be an asset.

Excellent analytical skills, including mathematical aptitude, for analyzing and reconciling payroll data.

Proven oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated organizational skills to allow prioritization of heavy workload in a demanding environment meeting strict timelines.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.

Ability to work within a team environment or independently as required.

Full understanding of complete pay cycle processing.

Bilingualism in French/English an asset.

This is a Full Time Temporary position of 1 year with 8 hour shifts, days shifts in the Payroll/ Finance department.
