Responsable des activités liées à la construction, à la construction et à la mise en service sur le site du client, depuis la mobilisation du site, en passant par les travaux de génie civil, de montage et de mise en service, ainsi que les activités de gestion liées à ce périmètre.

Impacte les opérations du département et responsable de la planification/exécution.

Le rôle dispose d'une certaine autonomie mais est axé sur l'exécution d'activités dans une discipline opérationnelle couverte par des pratiques et procédures fonctionnelles standard.

Un certain jugement peut être nécessaire, mais cela se fait généralement avec des conseils.


Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope.

Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution.

The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.

Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.


Summary:


The Project Manager of Construction & Commissioning (C&C) (PMCC), reporting to the regional C&C Project Management Leader, will be responsible for controlling and supporting the field operations tasks with respect to scope, schedule, and budget.

Based on business needs, the PMCC may be more involved with tendering stage of a project, execution phase, or a mix of the two.

The PMCC will support multiple projects at one time across the region.


Primary Responsibilities:


In this role, the PMCC will be responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project site related activities and resources with the support of the Project Director, Construction Leader and C&C Project Management Leader.


  • Execution (~80%):
  • Participate in site work Strategy definition with PD and Construction leader
  • Lead RFQ for subcontracting
  • Prepare the site for mobilization and support C&C site team during execution
  • Navigate and control a fully resource loaded schedule (MSP and/or Primavera)
  • Schedule preparation and support site weekly updates
  • Manage specific vendor packages at site (piping, painting, machining or equivalent)
  • Scope management with high focus in change orders
  • Proactive engagement in risk and opportunity assessment, able to drive outsidethebox opportunities to fruition, as well as effectively mitigate/eliminate risks
  • Build robust project financial and physical progress tracking structure and forecasting, and ensure project team is aligned accordingly
  • Leverage other functions as well as teams within C&C (Construction Leaders, Site Managers, Methods, Special Tooling, other PMCCs, etc.) to ensure smooth execution
  • Utilize and reinforce the usage of business standards tools across all project's portfolio
  • Tendering (~20%):
  • Analyze specification & participate in Base of Scope definition
  • Determine strategy pertaining to labour, scheduling, logistics, conditions, etc.
  • Work with Supply Chain & Engineering functions for multifunctional strategy
  • Leverage reference projects executed in the past
  • Work with Tendering Site Specialist and Costing team to ensure correct strategy is chosen & ultimately validate the costing estimates
  • Prepare risks & opportunities for C&C
The split between tendering & execution may fluctuate with business needs.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in management or engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Project Management experience
  • Power generation experience
  • Field Management experience
  • Experience with technical concepts (including Hydro Machines, turbines, generators, etc.)
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong EHS culture
  • Strong influencer and capacity to lead change across the C&C function
  • Strong IT skills (i.e. MS Office)
  • Availability to travel, 50% of time within Canada and USA, willingness to travel and spend time at the customer's refurbishment and construction site
  • 5+ years in project management organization in energy industry, construction or commissioning
