A Veteran Flood Technician is dependable, professional, and committed.
They have completed work that is more complex than normal jobs and have honed their customer service to an excellent level.
Skills such as moisture mapping, site updates, and thoroughness in their work is apparent, and distinctly separates them from less experienced Flood Technicians.
A veteran tech can complete structural drying and related tasks with efficiency and professionalism, while being detailed and concise.It is the belief at Downs Construction Ltd., that a Flood Technician is in truth a skilled trade, and therefore a career option.
Job Requirements- Have a valid BC drivers' license (to be presented at time of hire)
- Willing to do overtime and oncall shift work
- Ability to lift industrial fans lbs
- Ability to load/unload wheeled industrial dehumidifiers lbs
- Pass a criminal and driver's abstract check
- Attention to detail
- Excellent Customer Service
- Ability to work well alone as well as in a team environment
- Construction or restoration experience is an asset
- WRT designation is required
- Minimum 5 years experience is mandatory
- CCT, FSRT, and AHERA designations are an asset
- Providing up to date communication and photographs to Managers and their teams regarding the status of the work being performed.
- Completing emergency related tasks by performing all technical duties required, as flood/water extraction, structural drying practices, content manipulation, general demolition and mould remediation.
- Maintaining a neat and orderly company vehicle if assigned
- Working collaboratively with demolition, construction, carpentry, content and hazmat teams
- Communicating with customers, coworkers, and project managers
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed in detail
Completing timecard daily
- *Experience in Emergency Fire and Flood Restoration is an asset, but we also provide on-site training_
Compensation and Work Environment
- Wage: we will pay top wage for a veteran in this field
- Benefits: An extensive benefits plan that includes extended health, dental, GRSP, and LTD, plus a health care spending account. Available after the employee completes their probationary period three (3) months after their start date
