    About the Opportunity - Hardware Senior Product Manager


    This critical role manages a specific set of Avaya products or solution from conception to end-of-life, running their area of responsibility like a business.

    • Owns accountability for the financial success of a product. Acts as the voice of the customer, translating their needs into financially viable solutions.
    • Applies a balance of technical and business/market/competitive expertise to create products that address customer needs, complement the company's product/solution portfolio, and contribute to the company's financial success.
    • Builds connections across functions with internal stakeholders, such as engineering, program management, marketing, finance, go-to-market, services, sales, learning and operations so that the product is absorbed quickly by the market and is a success overall.
    • Acts as a technical advisor for a specific product. Helps develop use cases on how best to sell the product
    • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Owns and manages hardware product solutions. Lead and drive the definition of complex software and hardware products.
    • Manage a multi-million-dollar portfolio of products with P/L ownership.
    • Develops comprehensive Business Cases to secure NPI investments. Presents Business Cases to senior leadership for approvals.
    • Perform competitive analysis, define product strategies, positioning and marketing messaging.
    • Collaborates with leadership on the strategic direction of the solution.
    • Drives the definition and interlock of the solution with Avaya overall On Prem and Cloud Service offerings.
    • Supports new and existing customer opportunities and escalations.
    • Defines go to market strategies and drive the execution.
    • Translate technical details into benefits/use cases for the business customer and end user.
    • Follow and analyze market trends.
    • Develop product marketing strategies such as pricing, advertising and launch channels.
    • Craft compelling messages across marketing channels such as landing pages, ad campaigns, sales collateral and presentations.
    • Enables and assists sales teams with presenting offer value proposition as well as feature / functionality to various audiences both internal and external.
    • Drives end to end product life cycle and end of life/sale strategies.

    EXPERIENCE:


    Successful candidates will have a minimum of 7-10 years' experience in product management, product operations, engineering, marketing, services, program management, solutions/offer management, brand management, offer development or sales preferably in Unified Communication industry.

    Experience with hardware, communication protocols (H323, SIP, H248) as well as an understanding of different gateway audio processing codecs, will be an asset for this role. Direct Avaya or competitor hardware product knowledge would be an asset.

    • Ability to translate concepts into action items


    • Ability to perform strategic market research and quickly learn key information regarding the industry to become a subject matter expert.

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:


    • Engineering or Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
