ABOUT GRAYMONT


The Plant Superintendent position at Bedford plant manages the plant production to ensure the highest standards are achieved in terms of safety, environment, personnel, plant capacity and efficiency, product quality and availability.

The Plant Superintendent will continue to lead teams to be effective in a self-directed environment, in a safe and productive manner.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the management of the Plant to ensure the highest standards are achieved in the areas of safety, environment, personnel, plant efficiency, availability, and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the entire workforce is effectively developed, deployed, and managed.
  • Maintain and utilize the company's equipment, assets, and resources to ensure maximum long term value.
  • Implement strategic framework and corporate initiatives and ensure these are clearly communicated, understood and followed within the plant.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve plant performance.
  • Lead and develop an effective selfdirected workforce within the plant that works well with other functions.
  • Maintain effective relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, local communities and local, state and federal governments.
  • Act as relief Plant Manager or Supervisor when they are absent or on vacation.
  • Be on call for duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Plant operations experience (production, maintenance, quality, safety, environmental compliance, and administration).
  • Relevant college degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), people skills (able to motivate, coach and develop people).
  • Well organized and able to process large amounts of complex information, effective operational troubleshooting skills and effective decision making skills.
  • Strong financial management skills (analysis, budgeting, planning, etc.).
  • Computer literate, knowledgeable of Microsoft programs and standard engineering drawing programs.
  • Bilingualism, English & French is mandatory.
