The Role

Provide business level requirements for:
IIROC Operation requirements as it relates to finance and accounting, including regular Financial report filings
Identifying and documenting business requirements
Establish the required ledgers, subledgers and registers
Establish posting rules based on source event analysis
Business Transactions, Business processes and the Accounting Transactions that result across the Account Types, Currency, Counterparty and Cash Management and ledgers.
Test and verify all Business to Accounting Transactions for each stage
Validate the conceptual design of an IIROC accounting subsystem, which supports

- multiple date basis (trade-date, settlement date)
- multiple currencies
- security and cash positions
- an accounting cycle based on business calendars

Understand everyday activities and needs of IIROC Finance department and how the accounting system supports running the business.

Basic Qualifications

Operated at a AVP/Director level+ within the Finance Department for an IIROC Wealth Management Firm
CA Designation
CFO Qualifying Exam (with CSI)

Proven Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of how a business transaction translates into accounting transaction(s)
Deep understanding of financial processes within an IIROC Wealth Management Firm
Experience leveraging Book of Record systems as part of the finance department of an IIROC Wealth Management Firm
Ability to operate independently
Strong communication skills to explain accounting principles to individuals of varying degrees of accounting expertise

The Work Environment
Our mid-sized office environment is in a great location downtown - we are right by St. Lawrence Market, close to the Distillery District, and 10 minutes away from the Financial District

Work may be in-office, remote, or hybrid, collaborating with other team members in-personal and digitally during regular business hours.

We offer a flexible schedule, however, some work outside of normal business hours may be required on occasion due to time-constrained activities or collaborating with remote teams
