DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Reporting to the Volunteer Resources Lead, this position is responsible to support innovative strategies that transform the patient experience at Lakeridge Health through the provision of exemplary volunteer services.


In this role, the Associate will work from the Oshawa Hospital, act as a site liaison with volunteers and collaborate with the whole Volunteer Resources Team (VRT).

Facilitation of the activities relating to screening and onboarding of volunteers corporately, database entry, communication and reporting are key responsibilities of this position.

Leveraging a high degree of skill, confidentiality and expertise in monitoring and tracking current onboarding techniques will enable the team to enhance service delivery, improve care outcomes and patient and family satisfaction.

Specific duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the department's database, including accuracy of information; mass messaging from VRT and the organization; supporting the sign in process and quarterly statistics reporting.
  • Developing tools with the team to support both virtual and inperson processes.
  • Monitor site issues and volunteer satisfaction and sharing with VRT for actions.
  • Prescreening applicants and work with tools and team members to schedule and/or conduct interviews.
  • Monitoring and maintaining role vacancy logs via data entry.
  • Ensuring and facilitating completeness of all volunteer onboarding steps.
  • Ensure VRT receive timely updates on targets, support orientations and other activities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 2 years of related work and/or volunteer experience required
  • Postsecondary education, preferably in volunteer management and/or human resources related field is an asset
  • Membership in PAVRO and/or DRAVA is desirable
  • Proven experience maintaining and utilizing a large database; ideally a volunteer management platform
  • Demonstrated detail orientation and ability to work with confidential information
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse workforce and community
  • Able to follow through on requests and assignments while also seeking opportunities to identify changes and improvements to enhance the program
  • Demonstrated consistency in excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
  • Demonstrated commitment to our core values
