What You Will Do:

  • Develop job plans to be applied by Planners and work with Job Planning Subcommittee to standardize job plans across the company
  • Lead investigations into electrical equipment failures and prepare failure reports.
  • Lead and champion the implementation of preventive & predictive maintenance such as nondestructive testing (NSD), transformer oil sampling, infrared, motor analysis, etc.
  • Assist area maintenance teams with reliability and maintenance issues on VFDs, motor control centers, switchgears, instrumentation, valve actuators, electrical contactors, petroleum quality and measurement equipment, motors, substation and other electrical equipment.
  • Identify & assist aging equipment and submit risk assessments in Encompass for capital funding and lead five year substation inspections.
  • Review predictive maintenance reports and Control Centre generated work orders to identify reliability opportunities. Collaborate with impacted stakeholders as needed to resolve the issues.
  • Identify technical training requirements for Regional electricians. Supporting the development of technicians through formal / informal training and mentoring.

Who You Are:

  • Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program or 2 year electrical technical/vocational degree.

Related university degree and six‐plus years' experience OR eight‐plus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.- Strong problem solving skills demonstrated through a shown ability to identify solutions to complex challenges.- Outstanding interpersonal skills - both written and verbal to internal and external audiences.- Strong background in preventive and predictive maintenance technologies such as NSD, motor merging, infrared analysis, motor testing analysis, high & medium voltage maintenance and troubleshooting, etc.- Desire and ability to learn new maintenance concepts and techniques.- Knowledge of oil/gas pipeline operations is desired.- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.- Ability to initiate and manage change, be innovative, think strategically, and work well with teams.


Working Conditions:

  • This role is comprised of both field and office work (50% and 50%, respectively). A valid Ontario "G" Driver's license, a reliable vehicle and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required.
  • Hours of work can vary due to emergencies, line scheduling and outages or nonroutine work. Work during nights and weekends are sometimes required.
  • Work occasionally required in high noise level areas or confined spaces.
  • Overnight travel of approximately 3040 days per year may be required.
