The University of Alberta Hospital Campus Rehabilitation & Allied Health program is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual that exhibits excellent customer service and enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds.

The UAH Campus is one of Canada's leading clinical, research, and teaching hospitals, treating more than 700,000 patients annually from western and northern Canada.

The hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services, including specialized adult services within Cardiac Sciences, Neurosciences, Surgery, Medicine, Orthopedics, Renal, Critical Care, Burns, Transplants and Trauma inpatient programs, as well as a vast number of ambulatory clinics such as Cystic Fibrosis, Plastic Surgery, Blood Disorders and Neuromuscular Disease.

This position is part of the centralized Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program and is responsible for providing reception, booking and administrative support to patients and clinical staff primarily in the ambulatory care programs of the UAH Campus.

The Admin Support III provides first point of contact for patients and families, providing reception duties, registration, scheduling, booking, billing and other duties as required.

A high degree of attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellence in customer service is mandatory.

Maintenance of constructive working relationships and effective lines of communication with members of the public and the health care team is an expectation.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of experience working in an acute care hospital setting in an administrative/clerical role is preferred. Formal education in medical office administration. Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, data entry. Excellence in verbal and written communication skills. Excellence in customer service.


Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience working within an electronic medical record e.g. Connect Care. Knowledge and experience working with Oracle. CPR certification is required.
