Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk - Nanaimo, Canada - Pipe Eye

1-2 Shifts per week required to cover off staff member on medical leave could lead to more hours and/or a permanent position


Overview:

Duties:

• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
• Prepare and process accounts receivable invoices
• Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up as necessary
• Assist with monthend closing activities, including account reconciliations
• Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any billing or payment issues
• Assist with payroll processing as needed
• Utilize various accounting software systems such Sage50, Outlook, Teams, etc

Requirements:

• Proven experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable roles
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in using accounting software systems Sage50
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of payroll processes is a plus

Work Schedule:
Once trained, the incumbent may set their own schedule. During training the hours must be completed between 9am & 2pm, Monday to Friday. This position is flexible in hours, but is an in-person position. If the role becomes available after the permanent employee on leave returns, the new hire may work hybrid (home/in-office)
