About Us:

Looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team. We are a manufacturer and installer of engineered wall systems in Ontario.

The company has been contracted to provide products and installation services to many high-profile institutional and commercial construction projects throughout Ontario.


Who You Are:


Requirements:


  • Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Physically able to handle squatting and reaching.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience in freight and logistics is an asset.
  • Have experience and knowledgeable in the use of hand tools.
  • Valid Driver's license is an asset but not required.
  • Forklift truck experience is an asset.
  • Ability to use a computer is required.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is an asset.

Responsibilities:


1. Collaboration

  • Coordinate with managers about upcoming shipments (exports and imports).


  • Sales team

  • Ship, receive and organize returns for various materials and packages through UPS, Purolator, and local couriers.
  • Resolve delays with customer support, provide necessary paperwork and ensure timely delivery. Provide regular updates to the sales team.

2. Material Handling

  • Notify appropriate mangers when office orders are delivered to the warehouse.

3. Customs Paperwork

  • Request freight quotations (domestic and international) and confirm based on price and availability as desired by the project team. Discuss the mode (truck type) required with our site superintendent.
  • Provide import paperwork to our customers and broker as required. Research new types of paperwork requested and complete with guidance from our broker.
  • Maintain Estimated Value of Goods values and weights per unit with current warehouse inventory.
  • Complete Bill of Lading, Estimated Value of Goods, Shipping Form, US Proforma Invoice, Steel License and Aluminum License for shipments importing into, or exporting from, the USA.
  • Collaborate with our brokerage company to revise content/quantities, resolve issues with receiving/purchasing company IRS numbers, and complete additional paperwork as required (i.e., hazardous materials forms). Use Viewpoint software to obtain company IRS numbers.
  • Ensure inbond shipments get cleared before incurring fees.
  • Print and provide copies of the approved paperwork to the driver and the Plant Manager on pickup. Forward digital copies to the carrier.

4. File Management

  • Maintain SOPs for quotation requests, paperwork completion and approval.
  • Account for and file packing slips for freight shipments and purchases.

5. Warehouse Involvement

  • Update and maintain the shipping schedule
  • Communication with management to determine shipment details and specifications
  • Keep active correspondence with Plant Manager regarding loading trucks to ensure all materials will fit as scheduled
  • Create label for all skids, bundles, and boxes
  • Keep in contact with carrier and jobsite contact(s) regarding shipment status
  • Create truck/material layouts when required
  • File photos of every outgoing shipment in a timely manner
  • Control skid list and package numbers for all shipments
  • Perform receiving duties as required.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management.
