About the Role


The 3rd Class Assistant Shift Operator will be a key member of the Operations team, responsible for assistant shift engineer and plant maintenance duties.

We are seeking a hardworking individual who is passionate about decarbonization and has a desire to play an active role in the transition to clean energy.


Duties:


  • Responsible for assistant shift engineer and plant maintenance duties at the WSSP as well as other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer or their designate.
  • Promote, ensure and maintain a safe and healthy environment for your fellow workers and yourself so that everyone goes home injuryfree.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and Enwave HSE policies, programs and procedures.
  • Responsible for identifying and reporting workplace HSE hazards and concerns to their supervisor immediately, and provide solutions (if aware of any) to address these concerns as requested.
  • Immediate reporting of all workrelated injuries/illness to their supervisor

Qualifications or Skills Required:


  • Hold a valid Ontario drivers license.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years experience operating as an Assistant Shift Engineer.
  • This position will have direct contact with service contractors, suppliers, inspectors (insurance and government) and customers.
  • Attendance, punctuality, appearance, and positive behaviour required to foster positive relations with contractors, clients, staff, etc.

  • 12 hour shift

Experience:

Assistant Shift Engineer: 2 years (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • 3rd Class Operating Engineer Certificate (required)
  • Ontario Driver's License (preferred)
