    The Parking Attendant is responsible for working designated parking areas or booths at a pay-for-parking entrance/exit. This position will also: direct vehicles to appropriate parking areas; collect parking fees; monitor parking lots to check for required permits; ensure vehicles are parked in designated spaces; provide information to visitors and staff; ensure vehicles are not blocking traffic flow; and act as the first point of contact for customers and guests.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • First point of contact with customers in for the company which sets the standard for customer service at the facility; the first impression is very important.
    • Attends designated parking area or a booth at a pay-for-parking entrance/exit during established lot hours.
    • Directs drivers of vehicles to appropriate parking areas.
    • Monitors and/or patrols lots to check for required permits and to ensure cars are parked in designated spaces and not blocking traffic flow.
    • Performs other duties on an as and when required basis.
    • Provide prompt reporting of potential and existing problem areas to enhance REAL's Customer Care and provide a positive experience.
    • Be highly visible and act as "eyes and ears" of REAL.

    Education and Experience

    • Grade 12 education or GED is preferred.
    • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
    • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.
    • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
    • Ability to work conscientiously and with minimal direction.
    • Must be able to stand and walk for 8 hours.
    • May work odd or long hours at a time to complete operational requirements, projects or to participate in or coordinate evening and off-hour activities.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
    • Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement.
