Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the People & Culture Coordinator will focus on supporting various aspects of the employee experience, talent management and culture development.

Ottawa Tourism places a strong emphasis on a positive organizational culture.

The People & Culture Coordinator will play a role in ensuring the smooth onboarding of new employees and introducing them to the organizational culture.


The People & Culture Coordinator's responsibilities will encompass assisting in the recruitment process, onboarding new employees and organizing events to foster a positive workplace culture.

The role requires a high degree of organizational skill, attention to detail, and confidentiality.

The People & Culture Coordinator will also be responsible for adapting to evolving tasks and responsibilities and providing valuable feedback to enhance operational efficiency.

Primary Areas of Responsibility
Onboard new employees, providing orientation and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
Organize and coordinate employee engagement activities, events, and initiatives to boost morale and foster a positive workplace culture.
Participate in the health and safety committee meetings to address and resolve health and safety concerns.
Stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization, fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.
Actively contribute to the development and promotion of the company culture.


Essential Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
1 year of experience in human resources or a similar role.
Understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment legislation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.


Assets
Bilingual in both of Canada's official languages.
Previous experience working in tourism, hospitality, or destination management/marketing.
