Donnellan's Irish Pub is looking for a new
General Manager As the General Manager of our establishment, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of bar & kitchen operations, including staff management, customer service, inventory control, and financial management. Your primary goal will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the bar while maintaining high standards of quality and service. You will also be responsible for driving sales, maximizing profitability, and creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for our guests.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Schedule staff shifts effectively to meet business demands while controlling labor costs.
  • Handle any staffing issues, including conflicts or disciplinary actions, in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure that guests receive exceptional service at all times, resolving any issues or complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the bar, engaging with customers and building relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction levels and implement improvements as necessary to enhance the guest experience.
  • Oversee all bar operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and security protocols.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure sufficient stock while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
  • Implement and enforce safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices, implementing new ideas or initiatives to keep the bar competitive.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasting sales and expenses to achieve financial targets.
  • Monitor sales performance and expenses, analyzing variances and taking corrective action as needed to maximize profitability.
  • Implement pricing strategies and promotions to drive sales and increase revenue.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to alcohol service, health and safety, and employment practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including employee records, inventory reports, and financial transactions.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a General Manager in the hospitality industry with 10 years of management experience.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong food & beverage knowledge required, including wines and cocktails
  • Excellent working knowledge of Auphan (POS) and Clover (payment terminal) or similar
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficiency in bar operations, including inventory management and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including those related to alcohol service and safety.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Serving It Right & FoodSafe Level 1 certificate
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
