Maintenance Technician


Location:
Vaughan, ON


Type of Employment:
Full-Time - _
Monday to Friday _10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

What to Expect


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Carry out daily Preventive maintenance/inspections and emergency breakdown repairs on system equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and replace defective parts and components (motors, relays, controls, bearings, bushings, shafts, gears, chains, pulleys, pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment) according to all safety and quality procedures to all equipment.
  • Mechanical analysis of root cause as well as recovery and resolution.
  • Collaborate with other technicians on mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Assist and support Maintenance/Operations personnel with breakdown repairs
  • Required to be Oncall emergency 24/7 service required
  • Daily completion of documentation related to preventative maintenance, repairs, inventory by written/computerbased on a timely manner
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals
  • Keeping up spare parts inventory to maintain all equipment
  • Placing parts orders as needed to ensure spare parts are in inventory
  • Maintaining safety standards in area of responsibility. Maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Equipment:
Conveyor and Sortation system

  • Any additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 23years relevant certificate/diploma from college/technical school
  • Minimum 5 years in a maintenance role working with conveyors, mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance of automated material handling equipment
  • Advanced/High level of mechanical troubleshooting skills required
  • Experience working with power tools safely and properly
  • Use a variety of hand tool and electric meters
  • Forklift license
  • PLC knowledge
  • Electrical knowledge
  • Must be flexibility with schedule and work overtime if required
  • Fluent in English speaking (Clear oral communication), Reading and Writing
  • Ability to lift up to 501bs.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights and with ladders/lifts
  • Ability to climb, crawl, push, pull, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs, twisting, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and work well with others
  • Reliable, hardworking individual with good attitude & good work ethics
  • Highly Selfmotivated, quick learner
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Experience working in a warehouse/industrial environment
