THE POSITION:

We are currently looking for a hardworking, dedicated individual to manage and oversee all aspects of our daycare at 46612 First Avenue in Chilliwack.

The Child Care Manager will report to the Unique Get Together Society's Director, the purpose of the Daycare Manager is to oversee the daily operations, programming and assessment of early learning, and the successful transition of daycare children into the K-12 education system.

The Daycare Manager will be required to be a dynamic leader that implements early learning best practices and is able to coach & supervise staff effectively.

This is a full-time permanent position that works primarily at the Daycare Centre.


DAYCARE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manage Daycare Program Activities:

  • Supervise and provide leadership to early childhood educators, administration and other staff members to ensure that each child's individual needs are met
  • Prepare and complete reporting documents to secure funding
  • Prepare and execute operational and program reports and manage annual financial operating budgets
  • Attend department and lead team meetings
  • Ensure Sto:lo language, culture and values are integrated into programming
  • Enhance and implement early learning programming and curriculum
  • Coordinate staff professional development to align with program goals and priorities
  • Refer parents to internal and external resources for support as required
  • Ensure compliance of all internal and external policies and procedures including licensing, legislation and financial reporting
  • Oversee program supplies, furniture, fixtures and equipment as needed
  • Participate in a variety of internal and external committees and working groups as directed by the UGTS Director of Operations
  • Manage and support Daycare staff and promote their professional development, ensuring all staff are uptodate on required developmental training, immunizations, criminal record checks, etc.
  • Represent the Daycare at a variety of meetings involving parents, the provincial government and licensing bodies
  • Make the necessary arrangements for admitting and discharging children while maintaining a daily record of all arrivals and departures and communicate all enrollment changes to the staff
  • Collect Daycare payments, and address any late payment concerns
  • Have an ability to maintain a strong, regular, positive and supportive relationship with parents, families and caregivers, including parent/staff interviews
  • Be familiar with Daycare Licensing Regulations in BC and the BC Early Learning Framework
  • Ensure that the daily operation of the Daycare Centre complies with federal and provincial regulations
  • Identify and comply with amendments for policies and procedures for the ongoing improvement of the operation of the daycare program.
  • Adheres and maintains health and safety standards
  • Stay uptodate with changing government programs and requirements
  • Ensure that the facility and equipment is kept safe for children
  • Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.
  • Oversee the operations, maintenance and security of the building
  • Responsible for the hiring of all new staff in consultation with the Director of Operations
  • Plan and equip the center with developmentally appropriate equipment and supplies
  • Facilitate the management of each child's programs and routines in collaboration with staff and families
  • Plan meals to encourage healthy eating habits and consumption of nutritious snacks

Provide Supervision to Team Members:

  • Participate in recruitment and lead orientation of new team members
  • Complete annual performance evaluations for team members
  • Approve leaves and training requests of team members
  • Manage and document employee complaints, follow up steps, and discipline given
  • Assist team members in development, implementation and evaluation of individual activities
  • Coach and support staff when professional concerns arise, such as curriculum and
