Description
Our Community Behavioural Consultant plays a key role on the team, providing a holistic perspective of individuals health, well-being and level of functioning.
The Community Behavioural Consultant will foster the continued development of services too providers to effectively support individuals with complex service and support needs through several initiatives and strategies.
Collaboration with multiple stakeholders across multiple service systems are often required and is essential to achieving successful outcomes for the individuals with complex service and support needs.
Responsibilities:
The Behavioural Consultant works with children and youth with diverse abilities, their families, care teams and service providers to implement functional behavioural assessments and create behavioural intervention plans.
- Perform functional assessments and design positive behaviour support plans with families, schools and/or community programs Design and implement individualized ABAbased intervention programs for children
- Provide implementation support for behaviour support plans
- Prepare supports and materials with behavioural challenges and/or those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other Developmental Disabilities
- Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of ABAbased intervention programs
- Provide training to behavioural support workers, parents and/or other related parties
- Provide ongoing training, monitoring and evaluation of behavioural Support workers
- Provide consultation to families, behavioural support workers and/or other related parties for ongoing ABAbased intervention programs
- Supervise team meetings in the family home, as well as participate in clinical meetings with relevant professionals
- Design data collection protocols and interpret data to make databased decisions relative to each child's program
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Complete Functional Behaviour Assessment
- Create individualized Behaviour Support Plans (BSP)
- Train inhome support workers to implement BSP
- Create Safety Plans
- Deliver professional report presentations
- Train and provide handson modelling of techniques
- Consistently generate creative, resourceful solutions in any situations Understand and model personcentered practice
- Promote a collaborative and teambased approach in service delivery decisions
Required Education, Training & Experience:
- Functional Behavioural Assessment Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Certificate
- Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check (Valid within 6 months)
- Valid drivers licence
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
Pay:
$20.00-$26.00 per hour
