General Labourer/Machine Operator
Rendan Fabricators Limited, a rebar fabrication facility located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is looking for a full-time, permanent Labourer to join our team.
SUMMARY
Additionally, you will be given the training and mentorship to safely and effectively operate Rebar Bending Machine(s).
As a Bending Machine Operator, you will learn to perform all functions of steel bending ensuring safety, quality and productivity at the fabrication shop.
JOB DUTIES
- Actively participate Rendan Fabricator's safety reporting and observation program.
- Clean and perform preparation of work area.
- Lubricate, clean, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
- Flip rebar using established procedures.
- Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project plans and specifications.
- Use tools and equipment as assigned.
- Bend rebar on a table bender
- Set up Rebar Bending Machine for different types of bends
REQUIREMENTS
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- A desire to learn and develop.
- Previous experience working construction considered is considered an asset
- Overhead Crane and Forklift experience/certification preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs), walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor.
- Comfortable working in an industrial manufacturing environment

$19.00-$23.00 per hour
