Van Wasteco is an innovative, recycler and processor of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics. We are Hiring for Full-Time Permanent Machinist.

Report to:
Maintenance Supervisor

Compensation:
$35-40 per hour

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and routine maintenance of various machinery and equipment.
Detect defects and excessive wear in machinery and identify slight differences in dimensions and shapes of component parts.
Confer with management to recommend equipment changes and modifications and in evaluating new equipment.
Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery
Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or setup of machinery.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
Ensure that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
Set up and adjust production machineries/tools
Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
Enhance equipment performance, recommending improvements and implementing
Assist other tradespersons as and when needed in the shop floor.
Dismantle machines, using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools
Perform preventive maintenance procedures
Assist maintenance incharge with repairs

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work 40 hours a week. Should be flexible to do overtime if required.
Must be well organized and efficient in performing all assigned tasks.
Strong analytical, and problemsolving skills.
Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace.
Good rigging skills and forklift driving skills.
Selfmotivated with results driven approach.

WORK EXPERIENCE

35 years of work experience in Machinist Maintenance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Millwright or Red seal Ticket
Good rigging skills and forklift driving skills
Language of work: Fluent written and verbal English
Experience with machining and processes of repairing components would be an asset.
