Natura Catering & Events is hiring an Event Coordinator who shares Verdicchio Ristorante | Enoteca's and Natura Catering & Events commitment to modern Italian cuisine, sustainable food practices and the 'eat local' movement.

Summary of Position
Plan, coordinate and supervise the execution of all special party, banquet and event functions in Natura Catering & Events. Ensure that customer requirements and specs are adhered to and that functions run smoothly, efficiently and profitably.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work proficiently to plan and organize events using our event planning online program (Caterease)
  • Regularly review upcoming events function sheets and have thorough understanding of all requirements on upcoming scheduled events.
  • Coordinating staffing requirements and staff briefings
  • Train, supervise and terminate special events staff.
  • Prepare and post weekly schedules to ensure a sufficient number and appropriate skill levels of staff.
  • Managing and agreeing to labour budget set out for costing and profit margins
  • Continually strive to develop your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development (service, setup, bartending skills, new trends)
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, food tags, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner
  • Requisition or obtain equipment and supplies needed for each event, ensuring that they meet customer expectations and requirements (alcohol, rentals, special requests).
  • Be knowledgeable and updated on all A/V equipment, stereo system and control 4 functions including any troubleshooting
  • Inspect event room prior to the start of each function check room setup, menu, service staff, etc. conforms to function sheet.
  • Ensure attention to small details is surpassed and followed through (napkins folded when guests leave their seat etc )
  • Ability to expertly expedite food and delegate staff with proper authority and respect.
  • Greet customers prior to the start of each function and be present throughout the event to assist where needed.
  • Periodically check with customer to ensure satisfaction and respond to any requests.
  • Continually observe, direct and assist staff where necessary during the entire event. Ensure that all the details as per the functions sheet are performed.
  • Prepare and complete an accurate bill to the customer at the completion of the function and collect final payment. If another payment arrangement has been made, have the terms noted on the bill.
  • Direct and supervise breakdown and cleanup after the event. Account for all equipment and supplies. Return restaurant items to storage areas. Return or arrange for return of rented materials (counted and checked off according to rental invoice
  • Depositing of all monies, invoices, functions sheets and tipouts to accounting office no later than 1 day after the function

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years minimum experience
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of customers and staff.
  • Be able to commute to and from events
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Pages/Numbers for Mac
  • Must be able to multitask to a large degree
  • Organized must be able to stay focused
  • Problem solving skills be able to quickly solve the issue
  • Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least two years of frontofthehouse restaurant experience and/or banquet/event positions.
  • Be knowledgeable on food and wine/bar costs
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledgeable in A/V troubleshooting and/or technologically advanced
  • Artistic and creative

Salary:
From $19.00 per hour
