About the role

As Legal Counsel at Graham you will:

  • Have significant focus on project execution support and resolving construction disputes of varying complexity, including delay claims, change order disputes, builders' liens, insurance and bond claims, and employment issues.
  • Strive to approach dispute resolution from a solutionsoriented, practical, creative, and strategic perspective.
  • Effectively manage external counsel where necessary.
  • Advise on commercial contracting matters, including supporting project pursuits as well as subcontracting and supply chain matters.
  • Take sole carriage of matters of appropriate complexity and assist senior counsel with complex matters.
  • Deliver training on relevant legal topics to other areas of Graham's business.
  • Support the Legal Team with legal research and template development.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Graham's business, markets, and contract types.
  • Interact with Graham personnel, executives, and external stakeholders as needed to complete assigned work.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Member in good standing with a Law Society in Canada.
  • 35 years of dispute resolution experience obtained at a reputable Canadian law firm.
  • Direct construction law experience is a significant asset. Employment law experience is preferable, though not required.
  • Demonstrate an effective verbal and written communication style.
