About the Role


On behalf of the School of Public Policy, the Coordinator will engage in communications activities and alumni outreach to expand the school's network and maintain an online presence.

This work will encompass coordinating school's newsletter, social media, website, and events.


The Coordinator will work closely with a small group of staff and faculty at SFU's Vancouver campus, whilst maintaining a close presence with SFU's largest faculty (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) on Burnaby campus.

This position is responsible for making Public Policy's online presence continuous and expand its network.


The Coordinator would:

  • Support SPP's communication plans.
  • Coorganize meetings.
  • Arrange for audiovisual and other event needs.
  • Create content.
  • Draft and publish newsletters.

Required core competencies:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in communications or a related field.
  • Minimum 23 years of working experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Organized and detailed oriented.
  • Demonstrated experience in using communication tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in event / project coordination.
