Position Summary
Payroll Assistant
The Primary areas of responsibility will include accurate analysis of payroll data received by the departments into complex pay codes, verifying all payroll exception reports and ensuring timely completion of changes and overrides to meet biweekly payroll deadlines.
Input and maintain payroll data integrity in our HRIS system. Working closely with Human Resources, you will ensure all employee change forms are completed accurately before the payroll cycle. Responsible for the biweekly and/or monthly remittances and account reconciliation as required by the Hospital and Government agencies.This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

Qualifications:
Completion or enrolment in CPA Payroll Compliance Practitioner Program.
Minimum 3 years payroll experience in a unionized environment using a computerized payroll system.
Hospital payroll experience would be an asset.
In house payroll system experience would be an asset.
Excellent analytical skills, including mathematical aptitude, for analyzing and reconciling payroll data.
Proven oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated organizational skills to allow prioritization of heavy workload in a demanding environment meeting strict timelines.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office as well as ability to work within a team environment or independently as required.

This is a Full-Time Temporary position for approximately 1 Year, 75 hours bi-weekly, with 8 hour shifts, Days Shifts in the Payroll department.
