We are looking for a passionate and experienced health care leader to lead the provincial integrated care planning and delivery portfolio.

You will be leading a team of project managers and project support professionals to plan, coordinate and implement key initiatives across the cancer care continuum.

In partnership with operations and the program medical directors, the Director will also develop provincial strategies and standards and be responsible to ensure the program areas are successful in implementing desired changes.

This role offers opportunities to showcase your critical problem identification and solving skills, system-level approach, and facilitation and negotiation strategies that translate to committed actions.

You are an agile leader with strong track record in delivering and completing priorities across the complex health sector.

What you'll do

  • Take a lead role in the strategic development of the program's short and longterm priorities/direction; its annual objectives and development of a program performance management framework (including benchmarks and quality metrics), within the overall portfolio and strategic priorities of BC Cancer. In this role, the ability to work strategically with key provincial partners is essential.
  • Provide leadership and accountability for the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care processes and services within the program areas and assist the program medical directors in both developing province wide clinical service standards and priorities, and in supporting regional leadership in their work to achieve and sustain these standards.
  • Lead in the development of program operating and capital budgets and cost pressure and business case submissions related to the program areas. This work includes assisting the program medical directors in identifying service and budget priorities, determining the best allocation of resources and building implementation plans to support program development and improved service delivery.
  • This position is required to work closely with and facilitate the strategic guidance to provincial partners which includes, but is not limited to, Health Authorities, Ministry of Health (MoH), UBC Department of Medicine, other Provincial and National cancer agencies, committees and organizations.
  • This position provides sound decisionmaking and leadership collaboration with provincial and regional partners both internal and external to the PHSA in regards to the delivery of systemic therapy, primary care, CON, radiation therapy and oral oncology and will represent the program areas at various committees and meetings.
