ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIES:


  • Advising and overseeing daily functions and decisions of HR personnel.
  • Providing recommendations and guiding Managers on HR related matters.
  • Responsible for supporting all HR functions of HR in BC and Ontario.
  • Providing ongoing training and leadership supports to all HR personnel.
  • Support, coach and advise Management on how to handle Associate matters including but not limited to; disciplinary action, employee relations, performance management, engagement, health and safety, recruitment, disability management, and communication.
  • Coach, Support, and Manage any employee relations, investigation, and personnel concerns through departmental collaboration.
  • Develop and manage projects on training, recruitment, employee engagement, and recognition programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with local legislation, and implementation of new requirements.
  • Develop and implement training initiatives aligned with HR and company goals.
  • Reviewing & updating policies/procedures, as well as rollout and compliance.
  • Guiding the HR Department with development and monitoring of HR metrics, while reporting areas of concerns and opportunities.
  • Responsible for communication through internal channels to Managers and Associates
- creating reports that demonstrate dealership overviews and quarterly updates.

  • Must follow Company safety policies and practices, and immediately, report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
  • This position will be expected to perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned by Management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


  • Post secondary degree in Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership/management experience
  • Knowledge and experience with union and labor relations a plus.
  • Good presentation skills, with comfort in presenting and facilitating to groups.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Service oriented, with ability to build good working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Resourceful and processoriented with good business acumen.
  • Good understanding of information security, privacy and compliance concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be tactful and articulate with high use of discretion.
  • Have the ability to act quickly and decisively without compromising work effectiveness and quality.
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Be analytical and methodical in your approach to problems with the ability to cope with work related stress.
  • Good understanding of employment laws and practices.
  • Working towards CHRP is an asset.
  • Retail and automotive industry experience is an asset.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable in the face of a changing work environment.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • A positive attitude and works well in a teamoriented environment.
