    Inventory Clerk

    The Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB) provides comfortable, safe, and affordable homes adapted to Inuit needs and culture. Through its programs and services, it contributes to the development of vibrant, sustainable, and safe communities.

    FUNCTION & RESPONSABILITIES

    Under the supervision of the Inventory Coordinator, the Inventory Clerk performs the organizational and transactional functions related to materials, equipment and storage and acts as an internal auditor of the inventory and equipment management operations in all communities.

  • Ensures the orderliness, tidiness and maintenance of storage and outdoor areas of warehouses in all communities according to the established layout plan;
  • Performs location tagging in all material and equipment warehouses;
  • Codes and rotates materials and equipment;
  • Performs receiving and shipping of goods between communities and receiving of goods from suppliers;
  • Enters all inventory transactions into the inventory management system;
  • Informs staff in the communities of inventory transactions and tracks them;
  • Informs the Procurement Officer of any incomplete requisitions;
  • Prepares documentation related to the transfer of inventory to a third party for invoicing;
  • Applies recognized laws, regulations and procedures related to hazardous materials management and workplace safety;
  • Performs cyclical inventory counts of materials and equipment according to the established sampling plan;
  • Completes inventory adjustments of materials and equipment as required in the inventory management system;
  • Conducts the annual inventory of materials and equipment and reports the information to the Inventory Coordinator;
  • Receives and validates merchandise from sea and air shipments in all communities according to the established sampling plan;
  • Works as part of a team and collaborates with staff in the maintenance and procurement departments and the communities;
  • Performs any other related duties as requested by the Inventory Coordinator.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Experience / Knowledge

  • High school graduate;
  • Forklift driver's license (asset);
  • 1 to 2 years experience in the stocktaking field (asset);
  • Working knowledge of the WHMIS system (an asset);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs;
  • Valid territorial driving licence;
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in two of the three languages (English, French and Inuktitut).

  • Willingness to travel to the 14 communities of Nunavik;
  • Being able to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • The work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • SALARY / BENEFITS

    The NHB offers a competitive salary, benefits and interesting working conditions. The starting salary is $ 24.43 and could be higher based on assessment of related experience.
