Destination Canada is looking for
Marketing Specialist, Business Events to join our Vancouver team as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.


As Marketing Specialist for Business Events, you are the key liaison between Destination Canada's Business Events team, HQ teams, and agencies of records.

You will support in the implementation and evaluation of integrated marketing programs and assets and deliverables for the Business Events global brand.


Your excellent communication and organizational skills will come in handy as you collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth execution of campaigns and projects.

DUTIES:
This role coordinates efforts with the team, partners and third-party vendors.

Key duties include project management, marketing planning, partner communications, supporting content marketing, brand and communications activities aligned with the strategy, reviewing and reporting on program results, supporting in management and overseeing deliverables of our agencies of record, as well as coordinating key projects as directed by the Manager.


Essential Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Degree from a recognized university in marketing, communications or business administration, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and managing complex projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in delivering marketing campaigns to consumers and/or business events marketing.
  • Experience in the tourism industry is an asset.
  • Experience working in the Business Events industry is an asset.
  • Experience working with strategic marketing and paid media agencies is an asset.
  • Proficiency in French is an asset.

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge of project management processes and tools
  • Knowledge of various software packages including MS Office Suite (i

e:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • Knowledge of brand, marketing, promotions and media buying practices.
  • Understanding of content marketing and communication channels.
  • Knowledge of the Business Events industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the Incentive travel industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of agency models for marketing, branding, strategy, design, media buying and performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of project management and planning including financial and administrative management.
  • Knowledge of the latest marketing and technology trends an asset.
  • Knowledge of Business Events marketing in global markets is an asset.
