Structural Forensic Engineer - Full Time (Chatham/Windsor, Ontario)

We have an opportunity to add a Structural Forensic Engineer to our Chatham/Windsor, Ontario team. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing forensic investigations for structural, building envelope, as well as building code compliance issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is a must. Good presentation skills are an asset. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients and other stakeholders. Responsibilities

• Assess, analyze and report on the cause and origin of structural failures
• Interview witnesses, service personnel and other local officials
• Provide structural designs for restoration and renovation purposes
• Develop and complete full working drawings for building department acceptance
• Complete complex or innovative projects of any size where new or innovative design approaches are required
• Lead project(s) from start to finish
• Provide clean, accurate, and timely designs

Education, Knowledge And Experience Required

• Minimum Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required
• Professional Engineering License, or the ability to be licensed in the province of Ontario required
• Minimum 5 years' relevant work experience
• Preferably, experience includes strong residential design experience and/or equivalent work experience
• Experience within the insurance and legal industry is a must
• A demonstrated track record of taking projects to successful completion
• Proficient in standard Microsoft Office (MS Word, Outlook & Excel)
• Expert knowledge and understanding of the Regional Building Code
• Hands-on construction experience would be an asset
• Positive, self-driven, motivated, personal attitude
• A willingness and passion to support the marketing and sales department through attendance at presentations and industry events
• Customer facing experience: Ability to discuss project budgets with clients and maintain continuous communications throughout the project

Competitive Pay: $80,000 - $120,000
