Summary:


Under the direction of the Manager of Community Engagement, the Community Engagement and Grant Coordinator is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals, supporting SHARE's external communication with the community, donors, supporters and clients, and promoting and developing community relationships.

This position will persuasively communicate SHARE's mission and programs to potential funders and increase awareness of SHARE's initiatives and events in the local communities, as well as the agency's programs and services.

The Community Engagement and Grant Coordinator will support the work of the Community Engagement department including helping with events as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Grant Writing

  • Search for, and identify appropriate grant opportunities for the agency
  • Write and submit grant requests for the agency
  • Write and submit grant reports for funders, per the conditions of grants received
  • Monitor grant submission and reporting deadlines for the agency
  • Monitor and support submission of data from relevant program areas to support grant reporting
  • Meet with granting bodies and/or representatives as needed to learn more about opportunities, and promote the agency

Communications:


  • Lead the implementation of SHARE's social media plan and activities, including coordinating posts across various platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
  • Monitor social media accounts for information and posts relevant to the agency
  • Lead the maintenance of, and updates to, SHARE's publicfacing website
  • Support coherent, effective communication across all aspects of the agency, including developing and maintaining presentation templates, letterheads, etc.
  • Support the implementation of a coherent and effective branding strategy for SHARE

Community Engagement:


  • Represents the agency at community events where appropriate or recruits and trains staff or volunteers to represent the agency
  • Maintains contact with community groups and donors to promote interest, participation in and support for the organization
  • Stewards current donors to support future engagement
  • Supports the development and implementation of strategies to engage new donors and partners for the organization.

Qualifications Required:


  • Postsecondary degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • 3 years' experience with grant writing, community engagement and communications
  • Experience writing and editing a variety of communications and media relations products
  • Previous experience with nonprofit fundraising and community engagement
  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
  • Knowledge of best practices for Website navigation and writing
  • Knowledge of communications functions
  • Experience working in deadlinedriven environments.
