Assistant or Associate Professor in Experimental Bioimaging

The _Faculté de médecine vétérinaire _(FMV) of the _Université de Montréal_ is currently seeking qualified
infectious diseases. The FMV is located in Saint-Hyacinthe, the agricultural capital of Quebec with
57 000 inhabitants. The FMV is located 60 km (37 miles) from Montreal, a vibrant city with an international

(fluorescence, bioluminescence, x-rays, etc.) in order to study the dynamics of infection, to discover and
infectious diseases of animals. His/her research fields will focus primarily on pathogens causing diseases in
coordinate the experimental bio-imaging platform at the FMV and will also have access to the Réseau de
bio-imagerie du Québec (Québec Bio-Imaging network).


As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the _Faculté de _**
_médecine vétérinaire_:Through your teaching and your research activities. You will also ensure the visibility of your discipline in
addition to actively participate in the operation of a renowned institution


As such, you will:
-
Teach students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program;
>
Participate in the teaching and training of graduate students and the mentoring of postdoctoral fellows;
>
Develop an independent research program related to the description of this position; interdisciplinary

collaboration in research projects is also encouraged;
>
Participate in outreach activities for the discipline (publications, conferences and others);
>
Contribute to the functioning of the institution.


To succeed in this role, you'll need:
>
You must have a Ph. D. and at least one year of postdoctoral experience, in the field of experimental

bioimaging;
>
You must have experience in the study of host-pathogen interactions and animal models, using the

proposed platform or equivalent;
>
Demonstrate research experience or interest in developing a research program on topics related to

animal production or animal health;
>
A doctorate in veterinary medicine (DVM) or the equivalent would be an asset;
>
You must have adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language
or a strong commitment

to mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance with Université de Montréal's Language Policy.
