SAGKEENG CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (SCFS) is looking for a FULL-TIME MENTAL HEALTH INTAKE SPECIALIST. This role requires empathy, understanding and patience. You will be joining a creative, initiative, and active multi-disciplinary team. You are knowledgeable of SCFS, Sagkeeng First Nation and Indigenous culture. This position reports to SCFS Biidaaziiway Gamik Unit Clinical Director. SCFS offers competitive salary and benefits


Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary degree in social services (psychology, sociology, social work). Related field and experience will be considered.
  • Three (3) years' recent, related experience working with children, youth and families or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practice in intake and screening assessments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practice in prevention model, traumainformed, strengthbased perspective, systems theory, and attachment theory.
  • Knowledgeable in cognitive behavioural models, therapeutic/treatment modalities, and crisis response.
  • Experience in motivational interviewing, treatment planning and assessment completion.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of Manitoba's health and social welfare system.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills.
  • Experience in completing assessment tools.
  • Exceptional computer skills including excel.
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills.
  • Strong ability in data collection, data analysis and client management database.
  • Ability to manage time to work effectively and independently.
  • Strong conflictresolution skills.
  • Flexible and creative problemsolver.
  • Selfdirected and independent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups.
  • Willingness to adapt to new techniques and best practices.

  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet productivity goals.

Pay:
$62,337.00-$88,646.00 per year
