Reporting to the Manager of Field Services and NDE, the NDE Technical Lead - would support the development of the NDE capabilities within the Field Services department as well as various projects.

This leader will be responsible for individuals and teams executing commercial and internal work packages and projects, with respect to Non-Destructive Examination and other closely related disciplines.

Your role within the team:


  • The primary function of this role is to support AtkinsRéalis with the technical aspects of the NDT service line and recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Support functions include interfacing directly with technicians, Operations staff, Quality, and Customer, as applicable, to effectively establish and maintain NDE programs, processes, and practices.
  • Support the management of NDE personnel qualifications and certifications; advise on equipment and emerging technologies; and provide review and mentoring for NDT technicians.
  • Participate in interviews for new talent.
  • Foster a positive team environment and team building within the Field Services department.
  • Customer specific tasks that include but are not limited to procedure and technique development, customer specific qualification and certification programs, equipment, and instrumentation setups,
  • Customer/regulator audits and followup, surveillance/audit/troubleshooting on the Customer's behalf, procedure demonstrations, consulting, and record reviews
  • Provides support for program management that include internal Qualification & Certifications, Nuclear Services
  • Ensure adherence to the organization's policies, procedures, quality program and accreditation requirements.
  • Planning and executing work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Lead periodic and manage any audit corrective actions.
  • Established and ensure compliance with accreditation requirement.
  • Hold staff and contractors accountable for performance and behaviours, coaching and mentoring as required.
  • Provide technical support to field services projects as required.
  • Advise/troubleshoot/mentor as required.
  • Develop component specific NDT techniques as required.
  • Maintain NDE Code of Conduct.

What will you contribute?

  • Diploma of Collegial studies in mechanical/electrical technology or relevant technical experience
  • CGSB level 2 certifications in RT, MT, UT, PT, ET

and PCN:

PAUT

  • Minimum 10 years field experience in multiple NDE projects
  • Solid understanding of the nuclear industry codes and standards and be able to professionally write instructional documents.
  • Excellent communications and interactional skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills,
  • Excellent computer skills utilizing Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, etc.).
  • Willingness to expand skill base to fulfil all aspects of the role.
  • Willingness to travel and potentially work at project sites to meet corporate needs.
  • Security Clearances with Public Services and Procurement Canada is condition of employment.
