In this role, you will drive cultural improvement and resilience by employing relationship centered safety leadership tactics that foster an environment of trust and learning among employees and management.

The
Safety Compliance Coordinator will also provide program and technical assistance to facility leadership to improve the respective health and safety performance and compliance systems.

This individual works principally with our facility leadership and Langley's management team to deliver an employee safety culture of zero harm, reduce operational risks, and provide a safe work environment for all employees.

This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure and influence across the organization to grow and develop in the Health and Safety field.


Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Provide guidance and direction to facility leadership through coaching, mentoring, and teaching in support of their efforts to implement OBE Safety, Health and Environment Programs.
  • Assist with assessments, surveys, and program evaluations to identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with all applicable OBE Health & Safety programs.
  • Assist with inspections and behavioral based safety observations.
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents and development of corrective action plans.
  • Conduct learning review for all serious nearmisses and injuries and prepare presentation for corporate sharing.
  • Meet regularly with facility leadership to discuss facility status and cultural initiatives.
  • Document incidents and hazards in the corporate safety management system.
  • Manage safety hazard recognition program (Eyes on Safety).
  • Work as part of Langley management team to standardize LOTO, JSA, Powered Industrial Trucks, Machine Guarding, etc. programs throughout the facility.
  • Providing technical support for site Safety programs.
  • Complete Environmental reporting and compliance activities.
  • Act as the point of contact for Federal, Provincial and Local regulatory agencies.
  • Coach and facilitate leadership team in providing Safety training including monthly training topics, user training, environmental training, and new hire training.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and management team to manage WorkSafe BC claims.

Here's What We're Looking For

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in safety or related field required.
  • 13 years of safety experience in manufacturing/fabrication environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively across the organization; demonstrated leadership and coaching skills used for cultural growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Compensation Range - $79.4k to $86.3k CAD
