Airswift is working with one of our major Oil and Gas clients to find a Lab Technician to join their team in Christina Lake, AB.

RESPONSIBILITIES &


COMPETENCIES:
The role entails both administrative and hands-on responsibilities within the laboratory environment.

The primary focus is to support the Lab Coordinator in daily lab operations, ensuring reliable results conforming to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and QMS standards.

Duties include:
Overseeing lab safety, environmental systems, and addressing related issues.
Managing third-party lab data, including invoice coding.
Assisting stakeholders in projects, research, development, and operational optimization.
Preparing weekly updates, KPIs, and reports for senior staff approval.
In-depth knowledge of plant operations and historical data management.
Expertise in handling lab instruments, troubleshooting, and maintaining inventory.
Proficiency in LIMS, specifically Thermo Sample, Manager software.
Drafting, reviewing, and revising SOPs, training lab personnel, and ensuring QA/QC standards.


QUALIFICATIONS:
6-8 years of lab experience with a strong background in ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
University science degree (BSc) or technical diploma in Chemical Technology.
Experience in SAGD and Petroleum Laboratory processes would be a plus.
Water Testing and Process and Instrumentation familiarity.
