The Opportunity


Reporting to the Manager, Records & Information, this position will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, management and preservation of records and information at the City of St.

Albert.


The key responsibilities will include:
Physical Records Filing

  • Retrieve and sort mail that contains new records to be filed.
  • Use alphabetical, numerical, and chronological systems to sort and file physical records.
  • Retrieve data and files for other departments and employees.
Digitizing Records

  • Prepare physical files to be digitized.
  • Operate office equipment such as multifunction printer/copiers.
  • Enter information into databases.
Supporting the Records Management Centre

  • Assist with the transportation of records from other departments within the building.
  • Aid in the search and retrieval of records.
  • Participate in records management special projects.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and computer literacy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Experience with general office equipment such as a Multifunction Printer/Copier/Scanner is an asset.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

This position offered as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program and therefore to be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the Temporary position;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the Temporary position;
- have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada.


Hours of Work
We offer a work schedule of 80 hours bi-weekly, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.


Compensation
$21.56 per hour
