Position Summary - The Pool Supervisor is responsible to assist the Pools Manager with assigned tasks. You must have strong people skills and be positive in dealing with public. The Pool Supervisor requires the ability to make quick and decisive conflict & emergency resolving decisions. The position requires the skills of an individual who is both strong in leadership skills and rule enforcement minded for both staff and pool user's safety. The position also requires a strong sense for cleanliness, for both the proper pool maintenance and change room facility.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for making decisions regarding patron safety and ensuring lifeguard to bather ratios are adequate**
- Designated as a person in charge of emergency procedures and action plan for Pool staff**
- Responsible for creating adjusting pool staff work schedules and assignment of extra tasks**
- Responsible for assisting with coordinating tasks during start up and shut down of the facility**
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers**
- Responsible for completing reports; shift reports, incidents, and accidents**
- Ensure that proper chlorination & water quality is maintained, and records kept**
- Ensuring staff performs their duties in a safe and efficient manner**
- Monitoring of Ticket office**
- Payroll input in the absence of the Recreation and Experience Manager when assigned**
- Delegating cleaning and snow & ice maintenance tasks relating to the safe operation of the facility, works with maintenance manager when needed.**
- Updates manuals as required, posts current memos and info, keeps all pool staff informed**
- Keeps the Head Lifeguard (s) informed and make recommendations for improvements or changes**
- Lead and participate in regular scheduled in-service training sessions and meetings throughout the year**
- Perform routine custodial duties in the aquatics area including but not limited to patron and staff change rooms, and pool deck**
- Required to keep certifications current**
- Co-operate and accept other assignments as and when required.**
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
- Current NLS certifications**
- Current CPR-C certifications**
- AED Training**
- Minimum of 5 years of previous Lifeguarding experience**
- Pool Operator Certification an asset.
