JOB OVERVIEW:


JOB LOCATION:
Coquitlam, BC


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, leave management, discipline, disputes & investigations, performance management; rewards & recognition, and core HR training & development;
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and nonmandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments;
  • Assist with creating & updating internal policies ensuring legal compliance with Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety, & Privacy laws in BC, AB, & ON;
  • Administer and manage employee feedback for frontline and salaried employees;
  • Conduct HR SOP training sessions with site leadership;
  • Process letter requests and employment verifications;
  • Handle employmentrelated inquiries from applicants, employees, and site level leadership staff, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to HR Manager or senior management;
  • Maintenance & organization of personnel files;
  • Create & maintain job descriptions, and other HR documents as required;
  • Assist with managing the rewards and recognition program;
  • Remain up to date with Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety, and Privacy laws; and maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes and make recommendations to maintain compliance;
  • Conduct and review background checks via Sterling;
  • Reporting & reconciliation;
  • Other duties as required to support business growth.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


  • Excellent interpersonal & communicational (written and verbal) skills;
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office;
  • Thorough understanding of Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety, & Privacy Laws in BC, AB, & ON;
  • Dealing with high volume, fastpassed environment,
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to multitask without being overwhelmed;
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Intrinsic ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines;
  • Multilingual ability is considered an asset.
  • Labor relations experience considered an asset

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • HRrelated postsecondary diploma/degree preferred;
  • Minimum 12 years previous related work experience;
  • CPHR Designation or working towards CPHR designation is considered an asset;
  • Previous experience in a union environment considered an asset;
  • Acceptable security and criminal record check.
