Here's how a Security Coordinator for our Ottawa office contributes to our team:

Responsibilities:

Ensures access control and compliance with PCL contractual security requirements, with respect to PCL and client policies.
Reviews, processes, and organizes all personnel security clearances for personnel and vehicles through project authorities and facilitates subcontractor and trade clearances as needed.
Maintains and readily updates personnel clearance database and distributes uptodate lists to access control points and contacts.
Acts as the main liaison with external security personnel, guard force and security agencies in order to process clearances, site management and receive updates.
Provides input to the post orders for the Project Guard Force.
Conducts regular site security briefings to site personnel and debriefs outgoing site personnel.
Administers contract security documents including Request for Visits, Security Requirements Check List (SRCL), and oversees the same for any subcontractors.
Travels to project sites within Ottawa to perform regular onsite inspections and audits across project construction sites to ensure all areas of corporate and project security program are being adhered to.
Coordinates the development of project and/or building security plans that encompass elements of personnel, physical, and information security including IT.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

12 years of security experience in the Contract Security Program (OLISS, GoC security policy etc.).
College diploma or higherlevel education is preferred; however, a combination of education and experience with the proven ability to perform the job tasks may be accepted.
Valid Level II clearance with PSPC/CISD is preferred.
Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the project.
Demonstrated ability to understand the protocols and procedures for Security Requirement Checklist (SRCL) and Visit Clearance Requests (VCR), as well as for the handling and safeguarding of classified and protected information and assets.
Must possess a professional and customer focused attitude, with superior problemsolving abilities, and strong organization skills and communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).
Bilingualism in both English and French will be considered an asset.
Experience in the Construction industry will be considered an asset.
