Description

This role is part of a collaborative operating model between the two global Financial Hubs located in Montreal and Perth, as well as the head office in London and offices in Singapore and Brisbane.

Reporting to the Manager, Controllership - Battery Materials, this position is a great development opportunity for a person looking for challenges.

You will have the following responsibilities:

Validate and analyze the
monthly consolidated financial results that will be used for external and management reporting.
Ensure compliance of the financial information with
IFRS and Rio Tinto's accounting policies and the robustness of internal controls.
Resolve complex accounting issues specific to the operational situation of the sites under his/her responsibility and recommend solutions
Work in partnership with various stakeholders within the organization including Finance Business Partners located at the operating sites, financial accounting team, consolidation, accounting policy, Commercial, Tax, etc.
Support the function in its process optimization and standardization initiatives (continuous improvement)
Support the integration of new businesses into our operating model.

Your contribution
To be successfully considered for this position, the following requirements must be met:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Accounting certification (CPA or equivalent)

Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting, auditing or related field
Excellent English (written/verbal), French or Spanish will be considered an asset

Advanced Excel skills:

Solid knowledge of SAP
and

Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, advanced critical thinking:

Proactive with the ability to work autonomously
Good team player and ability to interact effectively with colleagues / to build partnership
Continuous improvement mindset.

Job Type:
Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months

Salary:
From $70.00 per hour
