Overview:
The Scale Clerks primary objective is the successful and safe shipment of materials to the customer.
Their second objective is providing the customer with a professional level of service by upholding Lafarge Brand appearance and courteous communication.
In addition to these objectives they will assist in PO creation, work orders, payroll, and other administrative duties.Location:

Responsibilities:
Safety:
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Respects and practices the Lafarge Health & Safety Rules.
- Responsible for reporting any observed safety violations and/or hazards to supervisors and management.
- Engage in daily safety communication activities (ie: Site Inductions, spot truck safety audits, daily safety messages, etc ) with management, employees and visitors.
Housekeeping:
- Practices good housekeeping principles in all areas of work including the scale house and yard.
- Ensure that the scale house and surrounding area is kept safe, presentable and functional
Scale Operations:
- Operate APEX system according to standard operating procedures to check/tare in trucks and produce weighbills/tickets for the shipment of goods in an accurate and timely manner (ie: no overloads).
- Collect documentation as per Front-End guideline for transport vehicles and transfers to the CSLM.
- Proactively communicate customer, transport and system issues with CSLM, sales and backoffice to ensure timely resolution.
- Collect money for cash sales and reconciles against register as prescribed by control procedures.
Administration:
- APEX, administer ticket entry into APEX system in a timely and accurate fashion according to standard operating procedures to meet or exceed established OPIs for customer ontime and accurate invoicing.
- PO creation, receiving, work orders, payroll, and other reporting as required through SAP.
Customer Service:
- Provide assistance via phone or facetoface contact with visitors and direct them to appropriate personnel for further assistance.
Dispatching:
- Take local orders and organize delivery and transfer trucks to help manage local inventories and minimize delivery disruptions.
Logistics:
- Where required, support the CSLM by following the Load & Scale Policy and STP Policy programs.
Reporting:
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports as prescribed by Standard Operating Procedures and Policies.
Relationship with Others
- Works closely with Plant Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Other Scale Clerks, Loader Operators, Operations Analyst
Specific Accountabilities:
- Responsible for safety, hazard and violations reporting for drivers on site.
- Operating SAP/APEX systems (ticketing, PO, reports), while adhering to STP and load & scale policies
- Dispatching delivery and transfer trucks for local site
Dimensions:
- 1 Aggregate site
Qualifications:
- The qualified personal will have excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel.
- They will have experience working with customers / dispatching and having knowledge of the construction industry would be an asset, but not essential.
- They must work / communicate effectively as a member of a team, while being detailoriented, thorough and accurate.
